Photograph of men sorting diamonds in Griqualand-West. The men are sitting around makeshift wooden tables piled with loose earth. There is a town consisting of huts behind. Griqualand-West was a British colony in southern Africa. The discovery of diamonds in the area led to vast excavation sites and the mass immigration of workers.
