Photograph of the Govind Dev Temple in Vrindavan. The large temple is in the shape of a cross and features elements of western and Hindu style architecture. It is in a partially ruined state and there is grass growing on what remains of the roof. There is a group of people gathered at the entrance and some small buildings in the foreground.
This is one of a series of photographs of Agra by Dr John Murray which were published in a volume with accompanying captions by J Middleton. Murray was an East India Company doctor who used waxed-paper negatives to produce photographs of the Mughal architecture of Agra and the surrounding area.
