Photograph of the city of Toledo in Spain with buildings, including the Alcázar, populating the higher slopes of the city and the River Tagus flowing through the valley on the right.
 
The Alcázar was originally built as a Roman Palace before becoming a fortification during the middle ages and finally a home for the Castilla La Mancha library together with the Museum of the Army which are housed there today.
 
Acquired by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
