Photograph of an iceberg with a man standing on the lower right looking up. The expedition named prominent icebergs to help with travel and navigation. This berg, known as the Church Berg, was photographed several times by Ponting over the course of a year. He often included figures to provide a sense of scale. Here, the individual on the right is Anton Omelchenko, the groom, who had been responsible for purchasing the Siberian ponies.
