Sir Benjamin Stone suggested in an interview that he commissioned this photograph as a part of a series of around 25 of the Franco-Prussian War. Peter James (Central Library, Birmingham, UK) is sceptical as to whether this was the case and we would welcome any further information on this photograph. (July 31, 2008)
