Louis Boutan

French marine zoologist who carried out experiments between 1892 and 1900 with underwater photography at the Arago Marine Laboratory at Banyuls-sur-Mer, on France's Mediterranean coast. He developed camera housings, underwater lights and filters to cope with the difficult conditions and used plates developed by the Lumiere Brothers for his experiments.
