Photograph of Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia (1868-1918) and Tsesarevich Alexei (1904-18) on the deck of a yacht in the Bay of Reval. Nicholas II is wearing the Full Dress uniform of the Royal Scots Greys with insignia and a bearskin hat. Tsesarevich Alexei is standing beside him to the right wearing a sailor suit and a straw hat. Naval officers are gathered on the deck around them.

In June 1908 King Edward VII and Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia met in the Bay of Reval, now Tallinn. As well as a family gathering the meeting served an important diplomatic purpose in the aftermath of the 1907 Anglo-Russian Entente, which settled colonial disputes and instigated the Triple Entente.
