Original woodcut illustration of the Anthony Prize for the best daguerreotype. The print shows the massive silver pitcher which Edward Anthony offered for America's first photographic competition. The Anthony Prize was won by Jeremiah Gurney for his whole plate portrait of his daughter. Print published in Gleason's Drawing Room Companion, 1853.
