Private collection of Stephen J. Harpur The date on the back is 1853 but the actual date of the medal is stamped on the rim as EXHIBITION 1879. On the other edge of the rim the name of the recipient COL. H. STUART WORTLEY. The design shows Apollo crossing the heavens in his chariot as the bringer of light.
