Ref Number: 2009-5001/12

[Curatorial description - National Media Museum - December 2011]

Taylor was a dramatist and poet. Cameron and Taylor were neighbours in Tunbridge Wells, and when Taylor moved to Bournemouth for his chronic asthma and Cameron moved to the Isle of Wight, Taylor was a frequent visitor.

The photograph is taken from an album compiled by Cameron in 1869 for her son Hardinge Hay Cameron. It contains 112 miniature prints of her larger works - portraits of famous men, fair women, literary scenes and religious images.
