Private collection of Stephen J. Harpur The date on the back is 1853 but the actual date of the medal is stamped on the rim as EXHIBITION 1879. On the other edge of the rim the name of the recipient COL. H. STUART WORTLEY. The raised head is that of Prince Albert the Pince Consort in Great Britain and husband of Queen Victoria who was an early supporter of photography.
