William S. Murdock (1849-1930), of Murdock's Gallery in Columbus, Indiana, seemed very proud of his many backdrops and props, which included walls, gates, rustic rocks, balustrades, grass mats, swings, and toboggan & snow winter scenery. I find it interesting that he mentioned the manufacturers: many by Seavy [sic] and one copyrighted by Kate Greenway [Kate Greenway the illustrator?
