One of the ten streamlined steam Hudson locomotives, built by the American Locomotive Company for the New York Central, in a design to conform to the new, streamlined Twentieth Century Limited. These locomotives, for fast passenger service, were of 4700 horsepower, an increase of approximately 15 percent over the previous Hudsons. The streamlining was designed by Henry Dreyfuss, noted industrial designer.
