Lincoln in Photographs, 6.
Meserve, The Photographs of Abraham Lincoln, 6.

The iconic image used in the Lincoln-Douglas senatorial campaign. The original negative was lost in the Chicago fire of 1871, and it is belived that Max Platz, who owned a studio in Chicago, acquired select negatives from Alexander Hesler after his studio was destroyed.
