This image depicts the fatal disconcern of the French cultural and political elite shortly before the German attack on Poland. The following people are satirically portrayed: Edouard Herriot, Paul Reyand, Jean Zay, Louis, Marin, Edouard Daladier, Leon Blum, Maurie Torez, Pierre Laval, Georges Mandel, Jules Jeanneney and Albert Lebrun.
