Unidentified photographer 1847 (ca) Portrait of an aggessive young man
Daguerreotype, 1/6 plate Archives of Modern Conflict OR National Gallery of Canada Aggressive looking man in his twenties staring directly into the camera with a menacing visage. The butt end of a Colt revolver peeks from its holster on one side of his belt while he had unsheathed a large pepperbox revolver with finger on trigger while a large knife still rests in it's scabbard. His bull neck and heavily muscled body are barely contained within his clothing. I feel he is the real thing, not someone trying to look tough. (Matt Isenburg)
