Photograph of soldiers on the lookout from the cemetery on Cathcart's Hill. A group of soldiers are gathered to the right, with one bending down to look through a telescope. The ground is covered in rocks and there are two graves in the foreground to the right. Hills can be seen in the distance. Cathcart's Hill, named after the grave of General Cathcart, was the main cemetery for British soldiers killed during the Crimean War. It was also used as an observation point as from it commanders could view the progress of the Siege of Sevastopol.
