This print was purchased from the Time-Life Gallery, in 1994. The edition of 250 was never fulfilled; only 37 prints were actually printed and signed.
 
Dache (1898-1989) was known for her flamboyant style, and modeled close-fitting brimmed cloche hats, snoods, caps and draped turbans. She also designed hats for movies, including stars Betty Grable and Marlene Dietrich. This image graced the cover of Life magazine at the peak of Dache's popularity.
