Research Notes
Extract from note in RDF by Sandra Klopper (then History of Art Dept, University of Cape Town) 7 Sept 1995 - "Spring…was an inn keeper in Durban who seems to have died a destitute alcoholic in 1878. His will, which is not at all helpful for anyone interested in the album, is in the Natal Archive Depot in Pietermaritzburg" [CM 21/07/2006]

Although the mount is not stamped by Fry & Co. the woman furthest right also appears on the right in .47 which has also been identified as having been taken on the same occasion as other images in the album stamped with the company name. [CM 02/11/2015]
