Wes Cowan (1 January 2017, Facebook post): "Cowan's sold two bound volumes, containing 47 hand-colored albumen photographs, in our December, 2008 auction. The images here are a sample from the printed catalog.In our catalog entry, we suggest that the images post-date 1863, with at least one plate showing the model wearing an 1864 cartridge box. We believe they were probably taken in Philadelphia."
