Photograph of a group of soldiers from the Royal Horse Artillery who served in the Anglo-Egyptian War. They are arranged in a group around a canon which is facing right. They are all wearing military uniform and several are holding signalling equipment. General Lister, standing directly in front of the canon, is holding a long pole. There is a building behind with three windows with wooden shutters. The Anglo-Egyptian War of 1882 repressed the nationalist 'Urabi Revolt and led to increased British control of Egypt. This photograph was taken at Cairo.
