Soviet architect, architectural historian and Director of the Institute of Architecture (1948-1952). In 1933 he made a panoramic perspective of "Every building on Ligovski Prospect, Leningrad", this photographic work on 34 folding mounts came in at a staggering 23.8 metres in length. If works of this type seem familar it is because American artist Ed Ruscha created a similar work "Every Building on the Sunset Strip" (Hollywood: Self-published, Printed by Cinema Center Printing Co., [1971])
