Jackie Fugere received her BFA in photography from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Fugere, who currently resides in New York City, has been exhibiting her work throughout the United States for over ten years in both group and solo exhibitions. Her work has garnered several awards, including the Roosevelt Paper Exhibition Award and the Wojnar-Drake Digital Imaging Award. In addition, Fugure recently completed a two-year fellowship with the Center for Emerging Visual Artists in Philadelphia. Fugere's work is strongly defined by the alternative process she uses to develop her prints. The Chromoskedasic process, which allows one to produce color images on black and white development paper, is unpredictable and lends itself to Fugere's interest in chance and the unexpected. While Fugere can control the process to some degree, there is always an element of uncertainty in how colors will bloom across the surface of these dreamy, shimmering prints.
