Photographed in and around Black River Falls, Wisconsin. His work was used by Michael Lesy for his 1973 cult classic Wisconsin Death Trip and the 1999 film with the same title written and directed by James Marsh.
The original glass plate negatives and photographs are held by the Wisconsin Historical Society.
