Note: For this first year 1894 exposition portfolio and subsequent 1895 portfolio, each plate featured a printed tissue guard lightly glued outside of the impressed "plate mark" of the image or suite of images on each plate. There were no tissue guards for the 1896 portfolio and for 1897 - 1896 was sequentially-numbered blindstamped and 1897 was sequentially-numbered printed.
