Henrique Nunes (Portuguese)
1876 (published)
A funeral mask found in a roman sepulture in Alcácer do Sal, Portugal, in 1874

Albumen print, tipped-in
Internet - Original source ill-defined
Angela Camila Castelo-Branco, Grand Monde (accessed: 5 July 2018) - source unclear.

It was published in 1876 as an illustration of the Boletim Architectonico e de Archeologia da Real Associação dos Architectos e Archeologos Portuguezes [Bulletin of Architecture and Archaeology of the Royal Association of the Portuguese Civil Architects and Archaeologists"] (Lisboa: Real Associação dos Architectos Civis e Archeologos Portuguezes, 2.nd series, number 9, 1876, fig. 13), a periodical illustrated with tipped in photographic albumen prints.

I'm indebted to Nuno Borges de Araújo for bringing this to my attention (Facebook, Victorian Images, 5 July 2018).
