E. Dorsène (Perigueux)
n.d.
A man (probably E. Dorsène) writing on the back of a young boy. The boy is sitting near a table and holds a fountain pen.

Cabinet card
Bazar Nadar / Wouter Lambrechts
This scene is probably a link to the photographer's pioneering practice in X-ray photography.

Photographer Eugène Dorsène (1854-1917) was active at Périgueux, 12 Allée de Fourny. He started his studio already in 1875. At the recto of the card: his name, location and 'Epreuve obtenu à la lumière artificielle' in gilded letters.

Röntgenology: Dorsène was a pioneer in the field of X-ray photography and one of the first ones in France to work with the invention of Wilhelm Röntgen. At 63 years old, he died because of these X-rays.
