One of only two similar studies in the archive, Fuwa is today a peninsula city on the widest section of the Rosetta branch of the Nile.
 
This stunning panorama epitomises the exotic appeal of the Egyptian landscape. Girault de Prangey captured this scene at a transitional time for the Middle East, which was fast becoming a significant centre for world trade.
