The title "King Fisher" is from the Finlay album in the SNPG. The nearby fishing village of Newhaven provided ample subject matter for Hill & Adamson. Their un-published volume on this series has recently been brilliantly re-created by Stevenson. This print is the same as HA418 (but is a darker brown); the negative is in the SNPG. This print shows a density loss in the area of the face, possibly caused by the oil from a fingerprint repelling the photographic chemicals.
