Hill & Adamson
n.d.
Possibly Mrs Elizabeth (Johnstone) Hall and unidentified woman

Waxed paper negative, positive version
University of Glasgow, Library
Hill & Adamson Collection, GUL Number: HA0627

This was possibly taken at the nearby fishing village of Newhaven, which provided ample subject matter for Hill & Adamson. Their un-published volume on this series has recently been brilliantly re-created by Stevenson. Mrs. Hall is depicted in HA419, HA631 and HA763. The negative, made on paper watermarked "J Whatman", has been waxed and retouched in ink. It is inscribed in ink "120A". This negative was used to make two prints now in the SNPG.
