With Edwards's signature, title and date, in pencil, on mount recto and his signature and title, in pencil, a Museum of Modern Art label and a "Save for Collection" notation, in an unknown hand, on mount verso.
 
John Paul Edwards was a founding member of Group f/64, which was established on November 15, 1932, in San Francisco, when 10 other photographers announced themselves as members: Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham, Preston Holder, Consuelo Kanaga, Alam Lavenson, Sonya Noskowiak, Henry Swift, Willard Van Dyke, Brett Weston and Edward Weston.
