Ninth-plate oval daguerreotype of a young woman. Done in a vignette style and housed in a beautiful red velvet case this most certainly could be the work of Southworth and Hawes, although no positive identification is available. Beautiful white highlights have been added to her off-the-shoulder dress and lovely flesh tones have been professionally applied.
