The Theatre Guild - Poster for the play The Great American Romance" - "Stieglitz Loves O'Keefe"

Poster
Archive Farms
The Patrick Montgomery Collection, Object No. 2022.702.

An original poster for the play staring Stacy Keach and Margot Kidder. This "The Great American Romance" initially toured in 1995 with subsequent revivals. The play starts with Stieglitz's death, and flashes back to the time when they first met, their union, marital wars and eventual separation. The Theatre Guild was a theatrical society founded in New York City in 1918 by Lawrence Langner. It evolved out of the work of the Washington Square Players, and was devoted to the production of high-quality, noncommercial American and foreign plays.
