Charles Tillot (1825-1895) was a French painter, collector, art critic, and writer. A student of Théodore Rousseau, he exhibited at the Salon in 1846, and was attached to the Barbizon School and the Impressionists. He later exhibited at the 2nd exhibition of the Impressionists in 1876 paintings whose subjects are mainly flowers and landscapes. He was also a photographer and journalist with the magazine “The Century” of which his father Claude Tillot was managing director.
