Mark Vercammen 2008, 5 February Evite for "Mark Varcammen" (February 5 - February 29, 2008 - Wallspace, Seattle)
E-vite Wall Space Gallery For nearly two decades Mark Vercammen has been documenting and exploring people with his camera, studying behavior and lifestyle of both friends and strangers. With his photography, Mark has been able to enter this personal world and produce moody and expressive images with an emotional edge that is at times beyond description. Mark cuts into the true nature of the subject, getting below the surface of the obvious, looking deeper for revealing power or weakness.
Wall space is proud to show Mark's new works, from his continuing story on the male form. The work moves beyond straight photography, encompassing other mediums and textures to create soft sensual experiences of form. His use of Lith moves the work towards etchings, encaustics add another dimension, enveloping both the viewer and subject in texture and softness.
