The Carte-de-visite mania appears to increase. Skilful operators and efficient printeifc are in increasing demand. At one first-class studeo we are assured the receipts average from é40 to é50 daily for card-portraits only. In the course of the recent trial, Mason v. Heath, the manager of Mason's business stated that he had not less than 50,000 card-portraits through his hands every month. It is stated that in one week as many as 70,000 portraits of the late Prince Consort were ordered of Mr. Mayall, and that upwards of 20,000 of the Queen of Naples were rapidly sold. Professors of the art in our country towns are also equally patronised. In the Bristol News wo see it mentioned that Mr. King, of Bath, has a very large catalogued collection; and that from his establishment are issued from 5000 to 6000 portraits every month. Of Mr. Macready's portrait 1000 copies were ordered of him, and of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kean the large number of 3000.
