Louis Jacques Mandé Daguerre
1838
Daguerre

Lithograph
Archives of Modern Conflict OR National Gallery of Canada
A year before The Daguerre Manual was printed, in 1838 Henri Grevedon published a lithograph of Daguerre. This is a reissue of the image printed by Aubert & Cie. Two years later.

The lithograph in the Daguerre Manual by Lemercier Bernard & Cie. Bears a strong resemblance to this except in the Manual, he is facing the other direction.

This illustration was included in the lecture "The many faces of Daguerre" presented by Matt Isenburg at the Daguerreian Society Symposium (2009).
