On 21st July 1936 the government of the Generalitat de Catalunya passed the decree to create the Central Committee of Anti-fascist Militias with the aim of controlling what was happening in the streets. They were armed organizations promoted by the CNT-FAI and made up chiefly of anarcho-syndicalist workers and peasants who in many municipalities became an authentic counterpower to the republican authorities. The actions of these committees have forever been associated with repression and violent action.
Exhumació de cadàvers. S'observen els fèretres exposats al cementiri de Girona amb els cossos de les víctimes del bàndol nacional, que al final de la guerra foren desenterrats per tal de donar-los cristiana sepultura. En un dels nínxols tapiats amb una làpida s'hi pot llegir la següent inscripció: "Josep Puntí. Morí el 27 de gener de 1936. 60 anys".
