The nearby fishing village of Newhaven provided ample subject matter for Hill & Adamson. Their un-published volume on this series has recently been brilliantly re-created by Stevenson. Even though they are sitting and confined in a space, the children found the long exposure time here daunting. Still, it conveys a sense of real life.
