[Texas Confederate foundry, view 3]

Tintype, 1/2 plate
DeGolyer Library, South Methodist University - SMU
Lawrence T. Jones III Texas photography collection, Call Number: Ag2008.0005

Image of a group of men, two in CSA uniforms. This tintype is one of a series of four depicting what is likely a Confederate foundry, apparently operating with slave labor. Conjectured foundries would be that of Alexander McGowan in Houston, located on Buffalo Bayou, or the J. H. Dance Revolver Foundry in East Columbia, on the Brazos River in Brazoria County. Source: Lawrence T. Jones III.
