The daguerreotype was taken around 1847, the last year of the life of Duchess Maria Luigia, who was therefore around 56 years old. A note conserved in the Museum Archive (Fascicolo Grigio), whose sources are unknown, however, attributes it to a Jesuit father from Bologna.
