(Kent Thompson, 7 June 2022) This is from the time of the Spanish American War, soldiers stationed in the Philippines, ca. 1898-1905. The museum has more photos that deal with stereotypes and racism towards minorities mainly through the time of segregation and the mid 1960s. There was segregation with not only African-Americans but American Indians with some counties having three school districts and facilities for example. It's hard not to find photos of everyday life through much of the 20th century in the south without finding examples of racist stereotypes and sexism.
