Ruth met Edward Weston in 1935, which was her great awakening to photography as art, then made this image in 1936 and claimed that she never made anything that pleased or meant more to her. This is a very old print that was mounted on the back of another doll themed experiment that is also described here. There is obvious surface wear and some silvering being about 80 years old. Also, some emulsion cracks are showing in the upper left.
