The subject reference reads, Capital punishment in Sahet al Marjeh during the French mandate, is a widely circulated scene online in connection with the French Mandate in Syria. Yet, this photograph is part of an album that was found in a street trash bin in Beirut in 1998. The photo album's history is not clear. There is no retrieved information on who made the album, where the photographs came from, or who is the photographer. The album was brought to the foundation by co-founder and AIF member at the time, Fouad El Khoury.
