The golliwogs were beloved British children book and doll figures, based on a minstrel show cakewalk dancer like many such figures they were ambivalent, with racist overtones. The De Vigny company in Paris marketed perfume in bottles with the golliwog motif. This is a scene from a NY musical show with a lavish dance number "Les Parfume" [as stamped on the verso.] It is by Apeda, N.Y. (Larry Gottheim)
