Hand colored. From the series "Norwegian Nationaldragter" (nr.51), photographed by photographer Marcus Selmer (1819-1900), Bergen. Subject title 51. Fin from Senjen in Finnmark. (This paragraph. 51) card size, where several designs are also available in larger formats. Most should be done about 1862-1866, preferably in the studio in Bergen. Same design of costume / model was fitted over neutral background for various drawing interiors / exteriors with other processed detail (some photographed exteriors). They will exist in the same directory no. in Selmer (with us introduced at various NF-No.). The suits were spreckled, without particular regard to the correct colors. Selmer photographs are often equipped with stamp or label that can contribute to dating, but rarely on the year. Besides, later manipulations of older designs do dating uncertain. This photo label used from 1867 to 1873 (?), But another copy of the subject's label from 1862 to 1866. Purchased 1971 Skougaard auction no.4, cat. 911, price kr.30.
