Victorious German troops marching into Berlin after Franco-Prussian War and festivities celebrating German victory. 1871.
This image was taken from the Liebermann Palais located in the northwest corner of Pariser Platz. The writer Theodore Fontane was among the spectators and he later wrote a poem about this event. Another print of this rare "snapshot" is in the Stenger Collection and was shown in the historic part of the famous exhibition "Film und Foto", Stuttgart 1929.
