Miniature view Private collection of John Toohey Pers. email from John Toohey (1 February 2014): Checking through the New Zealand archives, I decided this was by George Valentine (son of James, of the topographical postcards) but if it is by him it would have been taken C1880. The cards were probably published in the 1920s. Valentines used to raid their library for photos all the time so a postcard produced in the 1930s could be from a fifty year old negative.
