Provided by the artist - Sarah Hobbs Indecisiveness - I was trying to think about the simplest things we have a hard time making a decision about and was picking a color to paint my room. I was at Home Depot looking at paint swatches, and there you go. I knew the work had to be hyperbolic, over the top. I had a great space in my apartment in which to create the installation. I finished putting up the swatches and realized that I needed something to represent a person (and therefore implicate the viewer). I grabbed a chair. From then on I knew that a presence would always have to be implied.
