The seated male is the Oba Ovonramwen, King of Benin. Wearing a velvet gown, feet shackled together with chains. Males next to the Oba are soldiers, wearing uniforms; head-gear, short trousers, belts, jackets. Holding bayonets. Male at l and centre wearing medals.
